NORMAND BÉLANGER
Black belt 4th dan in Sogo Budo Jujutsu;
Black belt 1st dan in Karate;
Black belt 1st dan in Judo;
Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
MARTIAL PATH
Normand Bélanger boasts no less than 32 years of experience in various martial arts. Even before setting foot in a dojo, he was nicknamed Kung-fu because of his extensive reading on the subject. This enthusiast has explored all styles, leading him to practice more than fifteen at different levels.
His need to test his techniques led him to participate in several competitions, in judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and karate. Furthermore, he qualified twice for the national karate team (NKA) and represented Canada internationally.
His heart has long wavered between competition and teaching, but the latter now prevails and he is determined to put the same effort into both.
Because he has been teaching self-defense for women for 13 years, he also focuses on the realism of the techniques and does a lot of research in this area.
For him, the advantage of practicing Sogo Budo lies in the fact that you get a taste of everything while staying in the same dojo and that its practitioners have a more global vision of martial arts

Black Belt 1st Dan in Sogo Budo
WHAT DOES SOGO BUDO REPRESENT FOR ME
For nearly twenty years, Sogo Budo has been more than just a martial art school. It's a complete journey that goes beyond basic techniques. It offers deep philosophies and practical tools for life.
What truly sets the teachings at our school apart is its focus on real self-defense, teaching me how to protect myself in practical and realistic situations.
It's also a place where I built genuine, trust-based friendships that feel like family, creating a supportive and caring atmosphere.
In every training session, I've learned not just how to fight, but how to grow, how to push my limits, how to become a better version of myself.
